An introduction about barmarks will follow which will describe how you should work with barmarks and how it is all connected between the database and the drawing. In this article, a video is attached which is also described here.

= Functionality =

(% class="wikigeneratedid" id="H" %)
Barmarks are both located in the database (Standard admin) and in the drawing (dwg). When working with barmarks in IMPACT, a setting in Project Manager needs to be set to "Yes". This setting is found in the reinforcement tab and is called "Use barmarks definitions".

(% class="wikigeneratedid" %)
To have barmarks when starting a new drawing, the barmarks needs to be located in the bl.file or the file in your template. The file can exist on both the common (00) and local level (01).

//Figure 1: The name of the file is found here in Standard Admin//

The barmarks located in Standard Admin (common or local level) needs to be punched into the bl.file if you want to have them available in the whole project from the start. This can be done by Element -> Reinforcement -> import/export barmarks.

= Example =

Here the same example as in the video below will be explained with the crucial steps. Three sandwich walls will be drawn. SW1, SW2 & SW3.

Draw a bar with an imported barmark from the local or common level in SW3. Have SW2 open while doing this. Do an MTO Reinforcement in SW3. Open Project Manager -> Components -> Reinforcement Barmarks. Nothing will be displayed here because the barmark was imported from the local or common level. If you look in the barmark list in SW2 it is also empty.

If you open SW1 and look at the barmarks it will also be Empty. This is because the same barmark is existing on the local or common level. If you wish to have them here then you need to either insert them by import/export to the drawing or to the bl.dwg. After this close the drawing SW1.

Go back to SW2 and create a new barmark and call it 1015 (this one will be a project level one). When it is placed in the drawing and a MTO reinforcement is done then you can go back to Project Manager -> Components -> Reinforcement Barmarks. Now the barmark 1015 is displayed here.

Go back to SW3 which is open and check the barmarks. The barmark 1015 is not there.
