Designation styles...
Introduction
When working with reinforcement, all the text belongs to a certain text-template. This text-template is called Designation style. For all reinforcement that is created, one must decide which Designation style should be used. One can use the standard settings or create your own.
A designation style is a pre-defined style that makes the style and content of the text. This can be compared to using and configuring measurement-styles.
All changes one makes are bound to the drawing file that is currently open. If the Designation style is desired in another drawing or vice versa, then it can be imported or exported.
If the designation style should be applied to all new drawings on the local or common level the designation style should be created on the bl.dwg.

Creating a new Designation style
The advantage of copying an existing is that you get a lot of pre-defined settings. However, sometimes you need to create a new one.
In this example, we will create a new Designation style that will be used when drawing reinforcement in a section. The new Designation style should be called SectionB and have the following appearance: 10 Ø12 s150-B5 (Number of bars, diameter, ctc-distance, bar number).
Under the reinforcement tab, click on Designation styles... and click new. Type SectionB -> OK -> edit.

Choose the textstyle ISO and the textheight 2.5 (mm) under the style tab.

Moving to the bar tab, here you will choose how the text to the bar should appear on a drawing. What we will do is following, according to our example
10 Ø12 s150-B5 (Number of bars, diameter, ctc-distance, bar number). This will be written in the Designation style as below:
First the amount, space, diameter symbol, diameter, space, one s, ctc-distance, a punctuation mark, shape code and lastly a bar number.
You must also specify a Criteria value whether the text should appear or not. For example, the shape code should not be written when it is a straight bar (shapecode A for the Swedish standard).

When the values are picked and typed (the ones marked are typed, the rest picked), It should look like below.
Description of the logical:
- != Not equal to
- < Less than
- <= Less than or equal to
- = Equal
- > Greater
- >= Greater than or equal to
- False. e.g. the criteria "material take off" is OFF (It will not do an MTO)
- True. e.g. the criteria "material take off" is ON (It will do an MTO)

The Designation style is set to SectionB when the following bars are drawn.

Below, reinforcement bars are drawn with both the shape code 00 (Straight bar, the one which shall not be displayed) and B.

Import/export of designation styles
There are four types of functions you can access while working with the designation styles.
This menu is found at Reinforcement -> Text -> Designation styles... -> Export / Import...
Figure 9: Import / Export Designation Style Definitions
You can either (4) Browse and find another external drawing or you can create (3) and open a new external drawing. When this is done, you can either (1) import the selected object from the external file to the current file or vice versa (2) export.
Example: You can import a designation style from another file without getting the things drawn in it. Let us assume that you are in the drawing ga-0101 and need a designation style that was created in Ga-0102 called Importdesstyle. The procedure is following:
You should have the drawing ga-0101 open -> Designation styles... -> Export/Import -> Browse... -> (find the drawing Ga-0102) open it (now all designation styles in this drawing shows.) -> mark Importdesstyle and press Import -> OK. Now you also have the designation style in the drawing ga-0101.
Purge (remove) unused designation styles
With purge you are able to remove unused designation styles. Only definitions that are not referenced are included in the list.
