Reinforcement variable added called "MESH_NAME". This variable automatically generates the mesh name based on the mesh settings.

By adding this setting, the name of a new mesh component will be automatically set by using the mesh properties once those are filled in and you press "OK" button.

If you add "$DIMV" to the setting, it will be replaced by the vertical dimension.

If you add "$QLTV" to the setting, it will be replaced by the vertical quality.

If you add "$SPACV" to the setting, it will be replaced by the vertical spacing.

If you add "$SPACH" to the setting, it will be replaced by the horizontal spacing.

If you add "$DIMH" to the setting, it will be replaced by the horizontal dimension.

If you add "$QLTH" to the setting, it will be replaced by the horizontal quality.

If you add "-" to the setting, it will add a new row.

A running number will also be added to the name for separating equal mesh names.

By adding "$NR" you can control where the running number is added, otherwise, it will be added at the end.

So if the setting is "$SPACH-SPACV-$NR

If the horizontal spacing is 150 mm and the vertical spacing is 200 mm the names will be:

"150-200-1", "150-200-2", "150-200-3", "150-200-4"

Note:

Example of the IMPACT default setting:

VariableTypeValue
MESH_NAME0-

If you do not have this variable added the name will be the one that is written in the dialog box.

In this case, we didn't change the text in the dialog box which gave the name "NEW".

Example with a user default setting:

VariableTypeValue
MESH_NAME0NET$SPACVx$SPACH-$NR

The custom value that is chosen here is "NET$SPACVx$SPACH-$NR" which is created out of:

  • NET - This is a "dummy" text, it will not change nor take on any value. Any text or valid characters can be written.
  • $SPACV is described in the beginning.
  • x - This is a "dummy" text, it will not change nor take on any value. Any text or valid characters can be written.
  • $SPACH is described in the beginning.
  • - - This is a "dummy" text, it will not change nor take on any value. Any text or valid characters can be written.
  • $NR is described in the beginning.

Together all these can be set up as in this example.

The first step will be to create a new "Mesh" definition. When this dialog shows up after clicking on "New" "OK" should be selected without changing the name.

As we chose to have the spacing shown in the name, the horizontal spacing is set to 150 mm and the vertical to 200 mm.

After this we calculate the mass with the button and proceeds with "OK"

Here the naming is changed according to the mesh properties set in standard admin.

One more mesh is created with the same spacings set for both the horizontal and vertical bars to show that the last number is changed due to "$NR" added.

A short GIF is included to show the procedure.
