Information about the Software
In this chapter, we will define the software that will be used during the training and add a small explanation of their basic functionalities.
IMPACT Tekla Base Tools (TBT) 
The tool that transfers elements from Tekla in IMPACT with the correct Dimensions, Weight, Reinforcement, CIM and Drawings toward better Project and Production planning. The Tool has a one-way connection to IMPACT, which means that it can only transfer information from Tekla to IMPACT and not the other way around.
IMPACT PROJECT MANAGER (PM) 
The main tool for our precast project. Every Precast Project is created in the Project Manager separately with its own properties and values. The Project Manager in this training is used to view the elements in IMPACT and ensure that they are transferred correctly in the IMPACT database (both visually and numerically).
Tekla Structures (TS) 
The tool for detailing our Project, and creating the corresponding shop drawings of the Precast Concrete Elements. For the purpose of this training you will need to use your own Tekla Project. The Tekla Project that will be used in this material, is just an example.
There are 2 different Tekla Base Tools released in the StruSoft installer
- Tekla Base tools 17.1 that is compatible with Tekla Structures 2021-2023
- Tekla Base Tools 2024 17.1 that is compatible with Tekla Structures 2024
IMPORTANT Note: Tekla Base tools need Tekla Structures open in the background so they can launch. If there is no Tekla Structures open, then TBT will give you an error message and it will close automatically.
