Shear capacity
The Control theory chapter discusses shear capacity and shear reinforcement extensively in sections Shear capacity with shear reinforcement, Shear capacity of the shear reinforcement, Shear capacity of concrete and Rules for shear reinforcement.
Design of shear reinforcement is performed by first calculating shear capacity as described in Shear capacity with shear reinforcement. The shear reinforcement area Asv is converted to vertical 2-cut stirrups using selected diameter and appropriate spacing and shape depending on current section type.
