In the Backstage of Project Manager will a list of recent projects be shown under the Start menu. This list will contain the last 20 opened projects and these projects will change over time when opening different projects.

It's possible to keep the most used projects at the top of the backstage to make them easily accessible. This is done with "Pin".

When a project is Pinned will it always be at the top of the list.

With the Q4/2023 update will a "Pinned project" store a geometry file on the local disk as stated below.

Because the pinned projects are the most used projects will the element geometry when the detail is Fine be stored on the local computer for faster opening, updating and reloading the project.

The reason why it's "only" the pinned project and when the detailing is fine is that we don't want the geometry files to take up all the disk space.

The geometry file will be stored in the "Temp-> Server connect connection Name -> Standard Name ->Project name".

In the example below is the server connect connection name "IMPACT 17 - Master", Standard 1101 and Project File_Sync_D.

If a project is Unpinned then will the file in the folder get removed.

By storing the geometry file on the local disk will the element generation in the model view be read from this file instead of the database when opening, updating and reloading the project. The advantage of this is that the element generation speed is now based on the read/write speed of the disk instead of the connection speed to the database.

It's important to note that the Geometry file only speeds up the model generation - The Data for the tabs Element Mark, Element ID, etc also needs to be loaded and is dependent on the connection speed to the database.

Below is an example of the opening speed for a "pinned project" vs a "none pinned project". The Project contains 957 Element marks and 5810 Element IDs.
