We will start to split the sandwich walls vertically. For this, we need to have some sort of references available. Open level 1.

Go to IMPACT - Elements - Split Wall Vertical to start the command.

Select the walls facing east, north, and west. These walls should be split with the grid lines B, C, D, E, F, G, and 2.

At the same time as we do the split, we can insert endcaps and specify the gap between the elements. Put the gap to 20mm and use the endcap 'WD34-801'.

Continue with the vertical split for the inner walls.

Go to IMPACT - Elements - Split Wall Vertical to start the command.

Select the walls the two middle walls. These walls should be split with the grid line 2.

Now, let us do the horizontal split as well. Go to IMPACT - Elements - Split Wall Horizontal

Select all sandwich walls and click 'Finish'.

We are going to split the walls and insert endcaps at the same time. Select 'WD34-812' as the bottom endcap and 'WD34-808' as the top endcap.

We can also specify the gap from each side of the split. In this case, lower the top wall by 80mm.

Figure 5. Configure the horizontal split

There are three options for the split.

  1. Wall height from bottom - one split will be added at the specified height.
  2. Maximum wall height - several splits will be added with the specified maximum height. The last element will often be a bit smaller depending on the total height of the wall.
  3. Elevation - select a level in the model

Select 'Elevation' and finish with 'OK'.

Specify which level to use as a reference for the split. In our case, select 'Level 2'.

Go to IMPACT - Elements - Split Wall Horizontal and do the horizontal split for the inner walls as well.

Select all walls and click 'Finish'.

Select 'VD20-001' as the bottom endcap and 'VD20-000' as the top endcap.

We can also specify the gap from each side of the split. In this case, add a gap of 10mm on both sides.
