General overview

Draw Horizontal Hollow Core Wall starts with a dialog where the user configures the different hollow core elements that make up the wall.

The command continues with a jig where the user can set the desired alignment (Left/Center/Right) when drawing and also rotate the wall.

Offsets can also be added at the start- and endpoint (longitudinal & transversal).

There is also a possibility to return to the properties dialog.

The user then draws multiple "walls" by specifying start- and endpoints.

Draw & Edit lets you configure the wall

  • Set the number of elements
  • Set the definition (section) for each element
  • Set the strand pattern for each element
  • Set the rotation (flip) for each element. In our example above the last element is flipped so that the smooth surface is facing down and so the connection between the hollow cores should be fitting.
  • Set the gap between the elements.
Note: If you have 3 elements (rows) as in the example above, (Element 1 - Top, Element 2 - Middle, Element 3 - Bottom) then the Gap defined in the third row will be the gap between elements 3 & 2. The gap defined in the second row will be the gap between elements 2 & 1. This means that the top element gap does not change anything.
  • Set other properties, such as prestressing, endcap by using “Properties” from the right-click menu
  • Set model properties for all elements

Split lets you specify breakpoints and the gap between the new elements in a similar way as the regular “Split Wall” command.

Note: It is important to select all the elements in the wall when using the “Edit” or “Split” command.

The video below shows three columns where a Horizontal Hollow Core Wall will be drawn in between.
