General Settings for Shop Drawing Templates

All basic settings regarding the shop drawing template can be found in the General tab. 

Open an IMPACT Revit shop drawing template and go to Shop Drawing settings in the falling menu, shown below.

Once the user opens the shop drawing settings, General tab will be displayed. Here settings regarding the Drawing sheet, Drawing Status, Drawing Type and Element Type can be made.

Drawing Status

The Drawing status is widely used charasterictic of the shop drawing in IMPACT, used to show the development stage of the shop drawing.

Drawing statuses can be created on three different levels in IMPACT: Common, Local and Project. Drawing statuses are created and editted in IMPACT Standard Admin. 

Read below how statuses, created in Standard Admin can be set as default in the IMPACT Revit shop drawing template.  

Common level

Drawing statuses from Common level will be displayed, when Shop drawing template from Common level has been opened in IMPACT Revit. 

Path for Shop drawing templates on common level in IMPACT 15 and IMPACT 16 can be seen below: 

  • IMPACT 15: ...\IMPACT15\Standard\1100\1100\Revit_20xx\templates\Shop Drawing Templates
  • IMPACT 16: ...\IMPACT16\Standard\1100\1100\templates_drawings\Revit_20xx

Local level

Drawing statuses from Local level will be displayed, when Shop drawing template from Local level has been opened in IMPACT Revit.

  • IMPACT 15: ...\IMPACT15\Standard\1101\1101\Revit_20xx\templates\Shop Drawing Templates

Project level

Drawing statuses can also be project-specific and the user is able to create drawing status in the IMPACT project in Project Manager.

Drawing Type

Drawing Type is a characteristic in IMPACT used for drawing specifications, fields and options. Drawing types are company specific and vary for each  IMPACT standard. On the example below, 1100 IMPACT standard is used. 

Drawing Types are created in IMPACT standard Admin under Settings/Common/Drawings/Drawing Types.

Once the user opens IMPACT Shop drawing template settings, a default Drawing Type can be set. (See picture below.) A default Drawing Type will later help place the element in the correct project folder, add element specifications and made shop drawing fields editting possible from Project Manager.
