Rough Planning

Grid Configurations on the Element ID tab

There are multiple ways of doing this but for this training, we are going to use the Element Ids tab.

Set your grid configuration to rough planning and add more columns that will help you plan the elements efficiently, such as width, length, and height. Save the new configuration as your new preferred grid for rough planning.

Set Target Dates

Arrange the elements of the 1st floor by erection sequence ascending (see picture above).

Set target dates by selecting one of the date columns (select and drag your mouse down) and Right-click -- Planning -- Set Date and then select a date. Add a date that is 2 months ahead from today! Press SAVE on the top and wait for the rough planning dependencies to be fulfilled.

Fill out all the rest of the dates according to your experience. For example, the same date for slabs, hollow core and all horizontal elements. Split the sandwich and internal walls to 2-3 different dates. Let us agree that the margin for erecting a whole floor should be within a week!

Remove/Edit Dates

Now we would like to edit some of the dates. In order to do that, please select the dates that you want to move and then right-click – planning – change date like below.

You can also clear the dates for selected elements.

Note: Remember to press SAVE after you finish editing.

Note: The software will ask you if you want to update the dependencies after the element dates are changed. If you press Yes, all the rough dates will change. If you press No then only the date you change will stay changed!

Dependencies

You can set the Project dependencies per element type under the project Properties in PM.

As written in the previous chapters of the training, remember that the days are only working days and therefore 5 days equal a week!

If you are your company's Production Administrator and would like to know how to pre-set the dependencies for all new Projects then press here.

If you are trying this course on our training database, then please skip the step above and follow on this page.

Set elements to “Ready for Production"

Right-click on the elements and set them to "Ready for Production".

If you look at the model, the status will change after you press Update. This practically means that your design is approved and the element can move on to the production phase!
