Go to IMPACT - Elements - Edit Beam to start the command.

In the general-tab, you get information about the beam. Here, you can also change the beam definition.

In the ends-tab, you can do different edits to the ends of the beam.

  1. Angular cuts in vertical or horizontal direction.

  2. Recess in the with direction - either partial or through the width.

  3. Fixture recess.

We are going to add a circular fixture recess in the center of the beam. Add the values to the left side (1) and copy them to the right side with the arrow at the bottom (2).

In the section-tab you can modify the cross-section of the beam. You could for example half the beam with a rectangular cross-section and the other half with a ledged cross-section.

We are not going to use the different cross-sections, so we just finish the command with 'Apply'.

The next thing we are going to do is adding reinforcement.
