Add reinforcement
The next step is to add the main reinforcement to the walls. This is done with the Reinforcement Templates.
Mesh, straight bars around edges and openings, as well as standardized stirrups in the sides of the walls, will be added with the template.
There are three different types of standard reinforcement for sandwich walls.
- Double mesh + double rebar,
- Single mesh + double rebar,
- Single mesh + single rebar
After choosing the type, it is possible to set the placement of bars and mesh.

Adjust the cover for the reinforcement and the placement.
The measurement for Cut means the cover of concrete in the reinforcement length direction; this measure will affect the cut length of the reinforcement bar. The measurement Placement (Plac) is the cover of concrete for the edge that the bar belongs to, this measurement will affect the placement of the bar.

In the tab for edge reinforcement, you can specify the quality, diameter, and quantity of the straight bars. Also, you can specify the spacing for stirrups connected to endcaps.
Figure 4. Edge reinforcement.
In the tab for edge reinforcement, you can specify the quality, diameter, and quantity of the bars around the openings.
You can predefine the measurements around openings by selecting one of the three different choices. Figure 5 shows Anchorage length (measurement beyond opening).

There are two more options for the bars around the openings.

Also, you can specify the spacing for stirrups connected to endcaps (right side of Figure 5).
The last tab is for the configuration of the meshes.

To apply the reinforcement to the sandwich walls and solid walls, go to IMPACT - Reinforcement - Apply RC Template. Use WA001 for sandwich and VA000 for solid walls.
