The Smart CIM command can be used when you want to add several Cast-in Materials to one or a few walls, but don't want to create a CIM Template.

In this example, we will use the Smart CIM to add welding plates in the corners of the solid walls.

Go to IMPACT - Elements - Smart CIM to start the command.

Select the wall (see Figure 1).

We are going to add 4 welding plates to each wall, one for each corner.
Start by clicking 'New' (1).

Another dialog will appear. Select 'Common' (2), '03 Fastening Plate' (3), and find '0311' (4). Finish with 'OK'.

The next step is to configure the placement of the plates. Select the row for '0311' and fill in 200 mm on both 'X' (5) and 'Y' (6). Set 'Instances' (7) to 2 and 'End Offset' (8) to 200 mm.

We now have the plates placed in the two lower corners. Repeat steps 1-8, but change the value for 'Y' (9) to 2400 mm instead.

Figure 6. Complete the configuration.

The plates are now in all four corners. Before we apply the cast-in materials to the wall, we need to save the configuration so that we can use it for other walls. Change the 'Current Selection' (10) to 'Project' and click 'Save Configuration' (11).

Name the configuration 'Corner Plates' and set the description to '0311 in each corner'. Finish with 'OK'.

Now, add the configuration to the rest of the walls one wall at a time.

Select one of the other solid walls and go to IMPACT - Elements - Smart CIM to start the command.

Change the 'Current Selection' (12) to 'Project' and select the 'Smart CIM Configuration' (13) 'CORNER PLATES'. Finish with 'OK' (14).
