Element Control System

Introduction

In order to perform Quality Checks on our elements, we will have to create the quality checklists in the software. There are some basic controls created already for this training.

If you are a Production Admin and would like to know how to create new controls in IMPACT then follow this link.

If you are following the training material then please continue on this page.

General information about Controls in IMPACT

The IMPACT Cast Planner and IMPACT Go, allow us to perform quality controls (QC) for every element that we place on a cast. All the control info is stored in the database and can be printed or shared with the corresponding agencies of the country in which you operate. This is very important for the traceability of every element in your precast projects.

In our trial database, we have created 2 basic controls that will help us control the status of the elements, before and after producing our elements.

The 1st control is called the "Standard Pre-Production" and 2nd is called the "Standard Production" control.

Standard Pre-Production control is the one that includes all the processes that take place before we pour concrete on the mould.

Standard Production Control is the one that Includes all the processes that take place after the concrete is poured (after we have set the cast status to produced).

You can add many more control stages to your elements, but for this training, only the above 2 will be used. That is because the 2 controls mentioned above, will trigger an automatic status change for the elements when completed!

It is of the utmost importance to mention that the controls in IMPACT need to be added to every element separately.

Add Controls on Elements in PM

Adding controls to elements is a fairly simple process and can be done in many ways in the software. The easiest way to do it, is the model viewer in PM.

Select all the elements that you want to add controls to and then right-click and press Add Controls. In our case, we will do that only for the elements of the 1st floor.

The following window will pop up (it takes a little time to load) and you will need to add all the standard pre-production and standard production controls for every type of element that we have on our model. The controls are almost identical for every type of element.

1712814750346-129.png

After you press OK, the software is still workable, but the controls will take some time before they are added on the elements. The controls are fully added when the following message pops out.

1712814922177-279.png

In some cases, the above message might take a few minutes to pop out.

Now, press Refresh on the Cast Planner.

If you look into your CP, you will see that the rectangle of the elements in the calendar view has turned to red (if you followed the proposed settings in the calendar view). That is an indication that there is a control added on your elements, but it has not been yet performed.

Note:  You can add controls also on the Cast Planner. Select a table, then right-click – Add Controls.

Perform Controls in IMPACT GO

In order to perform the controls, we are going to use our Mobile App called IMPACT GO.

1713518119310-826.png

If you have not yet installed IMPACT Go, then please follow this link in order to download and install the app either for Android or IOS devices!

Open the app and scan the following QR code. When the Web API is visible, press Login.

Now it is important to use our cast report that we printed before (or print a new Cast report from a table that you have not set to produced yet). The cast report should look like the following:

Scan the QR code by pressing the "Scan button" as shown in the picture above.

Now the elements of the bed will show on the app.

Select 1 of the elements and press the “i” (info) button.

Review the properties and then press Element Control.

Now the 2 controls should be visible in the app.

Select the "Standard Pre-production control" and go into the simple and measurement checks.

Note: Simple checks are just a normal checklist. Measurement Checks are the checks that take into consideration the main properties of the element.

Perform the checks and press save. In the measurement checks, you can either add the real values of the mould (which we do not have) or leave the fields empty.

Try to click more than once and see what happens.

The controls are using the triple-clicking format.

 1-click: Check

2-click: Not relevant + Remark (Not applicable)

3-click: Unmarked again

After the control is performed, go back and press inspect. Take a few pictures and SAVE them on the mobile (you can also use your camera roll).

Now that the whole control is checked, please select the main control and then press SAVE.

Go back to the main view and press refresh elements. The status has now changed to 35 (planned and approved).

IMG_6400.PNG

Check your model in PM and the Cast Planner. The affected element has a new status.

Note: If you want to check the checklist that you just performed then select the corresponding element on the calendar view of the cast planner and press the Element control button.

1712819425138-128.png

All of your controls, time stamps and pictures are already up in the database in 0 time!

1712819457706-843.png

Select the other element on the PM and do the same controls directly from the Cast planner and not the mobile app. The effect is the same but in real life, you will need to do those from the app.

control_pm.gif

IMPORTANT Note: The box in the calendar view will turn green after all the controls for the elements placed on the cast are performed and accepted. In that way, you can get informed live in your office if all the controls are performed on time!

Now go back to your Mobile app and press Refresh.

IMG_6402.PNG

Select the whole cast by pressing the Header, and changing the status to Produced.

mobile_produced.gif

This is how you should do it in real life when the concrete is poured.

When the curing time is finished you can scan the cast (or the element label) again and then perform the post-production control. After that is done, the status should change to 45!

Check Control Status in RM

Now open the RM and go to the controls tab.

1712820083288-835.png

The filters on top work the same way as for the workload and production tabs.

1712820310847-367.png

It is important to select your project and then press "Refresh Data".

If you do not select a Project, then it will take time to load all the elements with controls in the database. Remember to unmark the Production dates (if you have selected the project) or select the correct Production dates if you do not wish to add a specific project to the filter.

Now a full summary of the element with controls is shown and you can see the full detail by pressing “> control details” on the side of the window.

1712821344511-462.png

Print Control Reports

Lastly select a few controls (maybe the ones that you already have done (element status is 35 or 45), and then right-click and Print from filter... Try and print both possibilities (detailed and compact) and you can see the differences in the 2 reports.

1712821683063-264.png

The reports are just a suggestion from our company. They are highly adjustable according to your needs, as they are made through Excel!
